FAQ
Why Do I Need A Racing License?
If you wish to start racing, one of the first things that you will need to have is a race license. This license will allow you to compete in sanctioned motorsport events. In Singapore, SMSA governs the motorsports and is the organization that issues out the racing licenses. The first license you will be able to obtain is the FIA National ‘C’ or ‘A’ License.
What is the difference between National ‘C’ and National ‘A’?
The ‘C’ License is a lower grade of license that is issued out by the SMSA for drivers that take up the licensing course with SMSA. The SMSA licensing course is a basic course aimed at getting the drivers to understand the rules and regulations of racing, and there is no race training included. Hence the National ‘C’ License serves as a probationary license.
The National ‘A’ License, is a higher grade license that is issued out by the SMSA for drivers that take up our 2 day licensing program. Our course teaches the drivers on the rules and regulations, as well as 2 full days of race training to improve their skills as drivers and to help them understand advanced techniques and give them and idea of race starts. For our group program of a minimum of 5 pax, we also conduct a mock race at the end to ease the driver’s apprehension and to help them transition safely into the world of motorsports.
