Race Driver Training

Driver training is one of the most important aspects of racing. Yet, in Asia, there is little focus on training. Drivers tend to upgrade and modify their cars in order to get better timings and go faster. The limitation with doing so is that as a driver, you will never be unable to push a car to its maximum potential.
Driver training should be the basics when a driver intends to start racing, and performance upgrades should come later once the driver is good enough to take advantage of the upgrades. There is no point in having a fast car, if you don’t know how to drive it fast.
Browse through some of the driver training programs that Global Racing Schools has developed specifically for the Asian market.

Fitness Training
Introduction

The fitness of a race driver can greatly improve his performance during the race. At Global Racing Schools, we understand the requirements of a racing driver better than even the driver themselves.
Using a proven method of training, we will help you achieve your peak physical performance so that you’ll have the stamina, strength and concentration to do what you need to do on the race training.

Our training programs are highly structured and it is conducted in a specialty sports training gym. We adjust the training program according to your season progress, physical endurance and your discipline of racing.
Some of the Components of our training includes:
Strength Training
Strength training is one of the key to racing. We will develop strength in your torso and hip area to ensure that you will be fit enough to withstand the G Forces. To do so, we will use a combination of free weights and machines to increase your strength capacity.
Conditioning
Conditioning your body to withstand the long duration in the car is what we’re be working towards. Our focus is to use a heart rate monitor to assess your current state of fitness and to gradually reduce your resting heart rate and maximum performance heart rate.
Reflex Training
Catching an oversteer or a lack in grip is down to the reaction timing of the driver. The Driver needs to have the reaction speed to counter the car in the direction required in order to remain control. We test and train reactions together with various forms of mental and physical stress such as physical exhaustion, heat and while performing psychological tasks.
Neck and Forearms Conditioning
The Neck and Forearms receive the most stress during the course of the race. Using a proven and safe method of training, we will help you achieve strength and conditioning in these areas in an controlled and extremely effective manner.
Aerobic Training
To Improve your VO2 Max( Body’s Stamina) we incorporate several indoor and outdoor techniques such as running, rock climbing, canoeing to improve your stamina.
Training Camps
As pre tune ups before races, we will be able organise an intensive 4 day camp for you aimed for you to peak your physical fitness before a race.

Media Training
Introduction

Every season of racing takes a lot of training and not to mention a lot of sponsorship money. Races such as GT3 Asia, Formula BMW and other International races have millions of viewers watching it through the TV coverage that is shown across 11 countries. Not surprisingly, when you do well or win a race, the media usually would like to either interview you or speak to you.
If you are able to conduct yourself in a professional manner, you can make the sponsors happy which means that funding is an issue you will not have to constantly worry about. There are big differences between someone that is camera trained and someone that is not.
A camera trained driver will be able to give a detailed account of his opinion according to the question presented to him. He will be able to speak clearly and precisely to sell himself and the sponsors that back him up.
In these modern times, which revolve around the media, a well groomed, well spoken and talented driver is something that every sponsor is looking for. So don’t look down on the importance of media training as it can greatly increase your profile if you know how to do it right, and get the right eyes on you to gain your sponsorship
Topics include
- An introduction to media engagement
- Tools to develop confidence and personality
- Skills to bring focus and clarity to sponsorship presentations
